About page
Height: 2,3 - 2,6 m. Waterfall is divided by two cascades - the upper is 0,5 m, lower - 1,8 m high.
Width: 4,5 m
River: Dauda
Accessibility: Easy - there are signs (rather small) showing the way to the waterfall. Access road is not very suitable for low cars. You can have a 0,5 km long walk to the falls - it is worth going there!
Location: Riga district, Sigulda municipality (not town), to the north-east from Sigulda town. Upper reaches of Dauda river. One should turn to the left at the sign when driving from Sigulda to Nurmizi village.
Description: The most significant waterfall in Gauja National Park - although Ierikupite falls are good competitors.
Water falls over sandstones. The upper part of sandstone contains much dolostone, and is more hardy - this causes the waterfall to form.
